Q. How do I choose the correct size and height
for my candle cover?
A. Here are some tips:
Cover Size:
Our
candle covers are designed to fit over
Cover Height:
To
choose the correct height please measure so that the top of your candle cover
will be level with the top of the electrical socket.
Please
do not rely on an older candle cover to get the correct measurement unless it
was installed in the above manner.

Q.
What kind of bulbs should I use with wax candle covers?
A. We recommend the use of 25 watt bulbs or less
for use with our beeswax candle covers. Higher wattage will cause the wax to
melt. To address this concern you may select our resin candle covers which are
available in a variety of sizes. They are made from a hard resin material that
simulates the look of beeswax and can withstand up to 60W. To view information
on our poly resin candles please click here. You will be transferred to the ‘Product
Overview’ page on our new website at www.beeswaxcandlecovers.com.
Q.
What bulbs do you recommend for use with your translucent beeswax
candle shells?
A. Obviously bulbs create heat and this must to
be taken into consideration because of the proximity to the wax. We have tested these candles for heat build up
and our recommendations are based on our observed results. As a result of our tests we have determined
that the only bulbs that are safe to use where
higher light output is required are the newer compact fluorescent bulbs
that screw into candelabra or standard sockets. Since the bulb sits inside
our translucent candles the fluorescent bulb is not actually visible. If low
wattage is an option, for instance where the light is strictly for
ambience, our 7W silicone dipped bulbs may also be safely used and are an
excellent choice. To see our selection
of bulbs just click on the ‘Bulbs & Accessories’ link on the left of the
page.
We
tested with fluorescent bulbs that were equivalent to 15w, 40w, and 60w
incandescent candelabra bulbs. The advantage is that a 15w equivalent
only uses 3 watts, a 40w equivalent only uses 9 watts and a 60w equivalent only
uses 14w. The result is as much or as little light as you require with
virtually no heat build up and less energy usage! Our tests showed
that anything above 15w with an
incandescent candelabra puts off too much heat in the confined
space. None of the fluorescent bulbs tested caused any melting. One
of our favorite bulbs was a decorative fluorescent that is dimmable but even
the non-decorative were great with these candles because they were hidden
inside. Click here to view a picture of the type of bulbs that we used: Recommended bulbs. If low wattage is an option, our 7W
silicone dipped bulbs may also be safely used.

Q. Do you accept credit cards?
A. We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and
PayPal through our online store. If you
wish to use American Express, just select the PayPal option. You will not be
required to sign up for a PayPal account.
The
following type of bulbs are the only type that we recommend for use with our
transparent candles. This particular
brand was found at The Home Depot. The
one on the right fits a candelabra socket and includes an insert for use with
an Edison socket. The bulb is also
dimmable. The one on the left is
available to fit either candelabra or Edison and is not dimmable. Most lighting stores now sell similar bulbs
from a variety of manufacturers.

Q. How quickly do you ship?
A. All of our products are hand made to order, however
most orders will ship within one week of receipt. For example, place your order on Wednesday
and our goal is to ship it by the beginning of the next week. Special orders may take a few days
longer. In rare cases some custom orders
may take longer to ship. The buyer will
be contacted and informed of this at the time of purchase.
Q. How much does shipping cost?
A. Shipping charges are based on the order
quantity and location. The exact amount will be clearly shown in your shopping
cart before you complete your purchase. Please be assured that we do not charge
exorbitant shipping fees. Due to the nature of our products all purchases are
fully insured against damage.
Q. What is your returns policy?
A. Our returns policy is listed below:
·
If your order is not as expected (for example if you ordered the
incorrect size or color) we can send you a complete replacement. The buyer will
pay any difference in cost between the original order and the new order. The
buyer will also cover the cost of returning the original order and pay the new
order shipping charges only.
·
At your option we will give you a complete refund of the
purchase price, less the original shipping costs. The buyer will cover the cost
of return shipping.
·
We cannot accept returns on custom cut sizes if the buyer is responsible for
giving us an incorrect measurement. Custom sizes cannot be reused by
us. However, in the interest of customer service we will prepare a new order
with the correct dimensions at a 30% discount. The original order does not need
to be returned.
·
A restocking fee of 20% applies to our Translucent Candle
Shells. These candles are custom made specifically to order using an expensive
acrylic core. It is very unlikely that we will be able to use them in the
future – therefore it is necessary to charge a restocking fee to recover the
cost of the acrylic core. There are no restocking fees for any other items.
